In one day, Gideon must handle a murder in Manchester and a burglary in London both committed by the same known villain before being shot during a separate fracas. Upon returning home at the end of the day, he gets short shrift from his family for forgetting to pick up the salmon - little thanks does the nation's protector receive and none does he ask.
