Jane Eyre är en brittisk miniserie från 2006. Manuset skrevs av Sandy Welch, baserat på Charlotte Brontës roman Jane Eyre från 1847. I huvudrollerna ses Ruth Wilson, Toby Stephens och Lorraine Ashbourne.<br/><br/>I Sverige visades serien med två dubbelavsnitt i SVT vid årsskiftet 2007-2008.<br/><br/>Jane Eyre är Charlotte Brontës mest älskade och lästa roman. En klassiker som har lästs av generationer och diskuterats utifrån en mängd vitt skilda motiv. <br/><br/>Flickan Jane Eyre blir tidigt föräldralös och växer upp hos sin faster och farbror. När farbrodern dör får han sin hustru att lova att alltid ta hand om Jane Eyre. Men fastern har ett komplicerat förhållande till Jane och skickar henne istället till Lowood, en skola för fattiga flickor. Jane tillbringar åren på skolan tills hon uppnår vuxen ålder och kan ta tjänst som guvernant i ett finare hem. Hon kommer till Thornfield och blir lärare till lilla Adéle.<br/><br/>På Thornfield möter hon snart också husets herre, Mr. Rochester, som är en mycket sträng och krävande man. Jane fascineras av honom, och de förälskar sig i varandra. När Mr Rochester äntligen friar ses lyckan vara fulländad. Men framför altaret får hon veta att han redan är gift och hon lämnar honom för att finna sig ett nytt och självständigt liv.
