Manusskaparen av "Bourne"-filmerna, Tony Gilroy, är nu tillbaka i regissörsstolen i detta nya kapitel av den actionfyllda Bourne-serien. I The Bourne Legacy får vi möta den nye hjälten Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), vars liv står på spel på grund av händelser i de första tre filmerna. Förutom Renner debuterar även Rachel Weisz och Edward Norton i den nya Bournefilmen medan Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn och Scott Glenn är tillbaka i sina tidigare roller.
