In 'Aguirre, Wrath of God' (1972), a Spanish expedition led by Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinski) aims to cross the Peruvian Sierras in search of the legendary Inca city of El Dorado. 'The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser' (1974) stars Bruno Schleinstein as the title character, telling the true story of the German boy who spent the first two decades of his life chained up in a cellar. Set in 18th Century Bolivia, 'Heart of Glass' (1976) stars Josef Bierbichler as Hias, a man with supernatural foresight who predicts a fire that will destroy the town's glassblowing factory. 'Stroszek' (1977) stars Schleinstein as a Berlin street performer recently released from prison who tries to get his life back on track with the help of his prostitute friend Eva (Eva Mattes). 'Nosferatu, the Vampyre' (1979) stars Kinski as the infamous Count Dracula, a peculiarly pale man with a penchant for vampirism. 'Woyzeck' (1979) is a film adaptation of the play by George Büchner telling the story of a lowly soldier who works all the hours he can to provide for his illegitimate child. In 'Fitzcarraldo' (1982), a budding rubber baron sets about trying to transport a steamship over a hill that hides access to an area rich in rubber. The film is based on true events. 'Cobra Verde' (1987) is a drama based on the novel 'The Viceroy of Ouidah' by Bruce Chatwin which sees a dissolute Brazilian rancher who has resulted to working on a gold mine after his land was destroyed by a drought. Having been drafted by the Army naive farm hand Claude Bukowski (Savage) makes his way to New York where he encounters a commune of hippies, led by the charismatic George Berger (Williams), who discourage him from enlisting and expose him to an alternative lifestyle. Sent to London to bring home American gangster Ben Larkin (John Vernon), Jim Brannigan balks at the more restrained style of policing found in Britain. When Larkin is kidnapped before he can be extradited, Brannigan charges through the city as he attempts to locate the gangster and finds himself at odds with Scotland Yard's Commander Charles Swann (Richard Attenborough). Once he is free, Edward hides his face behind a red mask and embarks on a brutal killing spree. As Julian attempts to stop him, long-buried secrets come to light. Filmed after the band had enjoyed a succession of Top 10 singles and had endeared themselves to the British public with the humour of their iconic music videos, it explores how a bunch of seven mates living in Camden Town in the late 70s got together to form the band - the jobs they left behind, the line-up changes, the rows, the laughs, and how their distinctive ska-pop 'Nutty Sound' evolved.<br/><br/>Produced and directed by Stiff Records' supremo Dave Robinson, his first feature film, with no written script and no 'acting' the film was completely based on real events with improvised dialogue. Things go from bad to worse when Ben Cameron (Henry B. Estate agent Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) arrives at Count Dracula (Klaus Kinski)'s castle in Transylvania to complete the sale of a property Dracula is purchasing in the town of Wismar in Germany. Despite having been warned that the Count is a vampire, Jonathan remains skeptical but his time at the castle soon rids him of any doubt as to Dracula's true nature.
