16 Horsepower's "Folklore" delves deeper into their distinctive, sombre and spiritual interpretation of American and Eastern European traditional songs. The album combines original songs with radically reinterpreted classics, which the band transforms into ritualistic, minimalist yet powerfully charged soundscapes. Banjo, cello, hurdy-gurdy and bandoneon form an archaic foundation that impressively underpins David Eugene Edwards' intense vocals. Folklore remains one of the band's most characteristic and atmospherically dense works: dark, ethereal, hypnotic - an album that dissolves the boundaries between tradition, myth and modern alternative culture.

16 Horsepower's early classic *Secret South* showcases the band at their darkest and most expansive: a feverish blend of Gothic Americana, folk, country influences and an occult, shimmering melancholy. Bandoneon, banjo, hurdy-gurdy and ethereal vocals create a sound that seems far removed from modernity yet remains timeless - archaic, intense and utterly captivating. As the tracks oscillate between ascetic austerity and opulent expansiveness, the full emotional force of an album that still enjoys cult status today unfolds. As 16 Horsepower have just been celebrating their 2026 reunion tour with the original line-up, this is an essential release for collectors of Gothic Americana, folk and alternative music.

Twisted Records is thrilled to announce the release of the long-awaited fourth album by Younger Brother: Mutually Assured Distraction. The first full-length release by the fabled electronica project in a decade features nine sumptuous tracks that each embody the project's intoxicating fusion of profoundly human sonorities and etheric electronic soundscapes. The title is a subversive reframing of the Cold War doctrine "Mutually Assured Destruction," pointing to a world currently frozen not by the geopolitical threat of a Nuclear Winter but by a Digital Summer of mindless overstimulation. Mutually Assured Distraction is a sonic salve for the pervasive numbness induced by an emotionally disconnective artificiality that seeks to pacify with counterfeit happiness; the album offers an antidote to mundane superficiality with nine musical masterpieces that convey the depth of human experience and authentic creative expression.
