On the night of 25th February 1964, Cassius Clay (Eli Goree) emerges victorious after defeating Sonny Liston at Miami Beach to be crowned Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World. As segregation laws prevent him from celebrating publicly, he and his friends - Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) and Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.) - spend their evening in a motel in an African American neighbourhood.
