'Alone in the Night' (1994) follows Nami (Yui Natsukawa), the widow of a police officer who was working undercover before his death. When he is accused of corruption, she decides to seek revenge on those responsible and becomes caught in a spiral of violence and misery from which there may be no escape. In 'Angel Guts: Red Flash' (1994) Nami (Maiko Kawakami) is a photographer working on the set of an adult film. When one of the acts she witnesses leads her to recall a traumatic event from her own past, her life begins to unravel. In 'A Night in Nude' (1993) Nami (Kimiko Yo) arrives in Tokyo and hires Kojiro (Naoto Takenaka) as a driver and guide. However, he soon realises that she has not been completely honest with him. She is fleeing from her dangerous yakuza lover and Kojiro is central to her plans to escape. Finally, 'Original Sin' (1992) follows Nami (Shinobu Otake), who is married to Hideki (Hideo Murota) but becomes involved with the younger Makoto (Masatoshi Nagase). In 'The Most Terrible Time in My Life' (1993) Hama agrees to help a Taiwanese waiter who is looking for his missing brother but in the course of his investigation, he finds himself embroiled in a gang war. 'The Stairway to the Distant Past' (1995) sees Hama take on the mysterious White Man (Eiji Okada) who controls the Yokohama riverfront as he attempts to dismantle a smuggling operation.
