Reload (Boxset/Remastered 2025) 5 Vinyl LP + Vinyl 7" + 15 CD + 4 DVD
The ReLoad Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set is a passionately and thoroughly curated document of 1997-1998 era Metallica, bursting with exclusives including previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, live performances, on-air and television appearances, and much more. This one-time numbered pressing features the remastered ReLoad album on 180g double vinyl, "The Memory Remains" 7", and Live at Ministry of Sound '97, a 140g triple album recorded live. The set's 15 CDs range from the remastered ReLoad album to never-before-released collections of riffs, demos and rough mixes, B-Sides and rarities, and a wealth of live material, while its 4 DVDs offer a plethora of behind the scenes, in-studio and live footage, on-air and television appearances, the band's pop-up performance at the CoreStates Complex Parking Lot in Philadelphia, visits to Seoul, and more. Rounding out the box's content are memorabilia including a pack of 13 Rorschach Test cards, an 11x17 Gimme Fuel poster, a sticker, a Pushead print, a 10-pack of guitar/bass picks, lyric sheets, three laminated tour passes and a deluxe 128-page book with never-before-seen photos and stories from whose who were there.

The release of ReLoad (Remastered) also marks the opening of the #GetTheReLoadOut fan cover competition. Last year, thousands of Metallica fans across social media submitted their interpretations of Load tracks for the #GetTheLoadOut Fan Cover Competition. The band is opening up round two - this time as #GetTheReLoadOut - to celebrate the ReLoad reissue with a new second category: In addition to the more traditional musical covers, performance and visual artists are also invited to participate. A different track off the album will be highlighted each week throughout the competition, culminating in two Grand Prize Winners each taking home a Metallica-autographed ReLoad Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set.

Originally released November 18, 1997, ReLoad was the third consecutive Metallica album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, ultimately spending nearly 80 weeks on the chart and attaining #1 status in six countries, and top 10 in nearly a dozen more. The 1995-1997 sessions at The Plant in Sausalito CA that yielded both ReLoad and Load found James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Jason Newsted exploring expanded creative terrain and pushing the boundaries of Metallica's sonic identity. On ReLoad, this meant bold decisions ranging from the inclusion of hurdy-gurdy and violin on the somber "Low Man's Lyric" to Marianne Faithfull's haunting guest vocal on "The Memory Remains." Like its 1996 predecessor, ReLoad has only grown in stature in the years since its release, with its incendiary opener "Fuel" and the timeless "The Memory Remains" remaining staples of the band's setlists on the ongoing M72 World Tour.

- 1. Night life / Fighting 7 CD
Universal Music Recordings is proud to announce a new box set celebrating a breakthrough year in the life of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Thin Lizzy.

THIN LIZZY 74-75 - NIGHT LIFE / FIGHTING is the follow-up to the best-selling and critically acclaimed follow-up to the best-selling and critically acclaimed THIN LIZZY 76. The 7CD set features new stereo mixes and the original versions of the studio albums released by the band in 1974 and 1975, 'Night Life' and 'Fighting'. The other discs contain unreleased versions from the band's vault, radio sessions, demos and a live show from Derby College of Technology recorded on November 21 1975.

THIN LIZZY 74-75 - NIGHT LIFE / FIGHTING is housed in a 10 x 10 box with a 40-page hard-backed book with sleeve notes by renowned music writer Mark Blake and packed with rare photos.

By mid-1974, Thin Lizzy were at a crossroads; they'd had a hit, Whiskey In The Jar, which they hated, and guitarist Eric Bell's lifestyle choices led to him being fired, and a young Gary Moore was drafted in for a tour and some demos. Scott Gorham, a twenty-something American guitar player, had come to London on the vague promise of a gig in his brother-in-law's band Supertramp, but it turned out they weren't hiring after all.

Thin Lizzy's rhythm section, Phil Lynott on bass & vocals, and drummer Brian Downey set up base camp at the Iroko Country Club, an African restaurant/bar on North London's Hampstead Hill, to audition new guitarists after Moore left to do his own thing. One of the early candidates was 'Robbo', an eighteen-year-old Glaswegian Brian Robertson, who arrived three weeks after auditions began. However, Lynott was looking for something else, and it soon became apparent that he was looking for two guitarists in the band. "The thing is, I'd never heard of Thin Lizzy or any of their music," admits Gorham. "I was the complete underdog." However, Gorham got the gig, and Lizzy signed to Phonogram Records' rock imprint Vertigo. But there'd been some sleight of hand involved, Vertigo had been impressed by Lizzy's last demo, especially Gary Moore's playing on the ballad 'Still In Love With You'.

Making 'Night Life' was a baptism of fire for Thin Lizzy's new recruits. The line-up had only been together a few weeks before Vertigo put them in London's Trident Studios with American producer Ron Nevison, who had engineered The Who's Quadrophenia and Bad Company's best-selling debut. The two guitarists complemented each other, with Robertson's rigorous, blues-based sound counterbalanced by Gorham's freer approach. However, Gary Moore's version of 'Still In Love With You' made it onto the finished album. 'Night Life' was released on November 8, 1974, with a cover illustration by artist Jim Fitzpatrick, whose black panther surveying an urban landscape acknowledged the Black Panthers' political organisation. The album stalled outside the Top 50, though. "I think Ron made the album he wanted to make," offers Gorham. "My frustration is the original record never sounded the way we did on stage."

Downey is more sanguine about the record: "It was our first album with two musicians that had never been in a studio before. Making an album as good as that was a big achievement, whether it sold any copies or not."

Lizzy's steep learning curve continued through March and April 1975, on their first trip to the US, opening for Canadian rockers, Bachman-Turner Overdrive. After Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Lizzy opened for ZZ Top, Rush and Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band before flying home. Thin Lizzy's cover of Bob Seger's 'Rosalie', the live version of which would later give Lizzy a top 20 hit, would be included on their fifth album, which, after being unsatisfied with the experience on 'Night Life', would be produced by Lynott alone with engineer Keith Harwood, fresh from David Bowie's Diamond Dogs and the Rolling Stones' It's Only Rock'n'Roll.

'Fighting' had more edge and focus than 'Night Life'. "America influenced us," suggests Downey. "If we hadn't gone to America, I don't know how 'Fighting' would have turned out. We saw how much hard rock was accepted in America, and this changed our direction." The LP cover, though, would cause red ace faces for decades to come; the British version of the album showed them in a Westbourne Grove alley, staring down the photographer's lens, brandishing weapons: Robertson held a knife and Downey and Lynott various lengths of pipe. "If there was a chart for the worst album covers of all time, that would be in the top ten," laughs Gorham, who has no idea why he wasn't given an offensive weapon and just stood with his arms folded.

Released on September 12, 1975, Fighting peaked at Number 60 in the UK. "I don't know if we were disappointed," says Robertson. "Because it did better than Night Life."

Thin Lizzy finally achieved their much-needed breakthrough in 1976. Their reputation would be forged with the groundbreaking Jailbreak, Johnny The Fox and Live And Dangerous albums. But the road to victory began in 1974 and 75.

5 x 180g Heavyweight Vinyl (LP1 Brand New 2021 Remaster of Tattoo You, LP2 Lost & Found: 9 Previously Unreleased Tracks, LP3, 4 & 5 "Still Life" Live At Wembley Stadium 1982).

Plus 124 page hardback book featuring over 200 rare photos from recording sessions & world tour + interviews with producer Chris Kimsey & photographer Hubert Kretzschmar + Lenticular Art.

The 40th anniversary remaster of the original 11-track album includes such enduring favourites as 'Hang Fire', 'Waiting On A Friend' (showcasing jazz saxophone giant Sonny Rollins) and of course the opening track that's been a band signature ever since, 'Start Me Up'. The deluxe formats will also include Lost & Found: Rarities and Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982.

The Lost & Found disc contains no fewer than nine songs from the period of the album's original release, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band. Among these, 'Living In The Heart Of Love' is a quintessential Stones rock workout with all of the group on top form, complete with urgent guitar licks and fine piano detail.

Other highlights of Lost & Found include a killer version of 'Shame, Shame, Shame', first recorded in 1963 by one of the band's blues heroes, Jimmy Reed; their reading of Dobie Gray's soul gem 'Drift Away'; and a fascinating reggae-tinged version of 'Start Me Up'.

Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982 is an unmissable memento of the band's London show in June of that year on the Tattoo You tour. The mighty 26-track set is packed with Stones mega-hits, including an opening 'Under My Thumb' and all-time greats such as 'Let's Spend The Night Together', 'Honky Tonk Women' and 'Brown Sugar'.

The Wembley show has covers of the Temptations' 'Just My Imagination,' Eddie Cochran's 'Twenty Flight Rock,' the Miracles' 'Going To A Go Go' and early rock 'n' roller the Big Bopper's 'Chantilly Lace.' It also features early live workouts for tracks from the then-new Tattoo You such as 'Start Me Up', 'Neighbours', 'Little T&A' and 'Hang Fire'.
