Deap Vally: Femejism [CD]

Being in a band is like being in a marriage: sometimes it's magical, sometimes it's unbearably challenging. To reinvigorate that marriage, Deap Vally have made their third album a genre-bending experiment with new collaborators and instrumentation that push the limits of what has previously defined the duo - Marriage is their musical Rumspringa, if you will. The album sees Julie and Lindsey break free of the rigid creative constraints within which they previously existed (two members, two instruments, two voices) and invite in collaborators such as KT Tunstall, Peaches, Jennie Vee and jennylee, as well as a range of producers including Allen Salmon, Josiah Mazzaschi and Harvey Mason Jr.

History has proven that when the world is in flames, it ignites the empathetic artists to siren their words, music, and rhythm, to blanket our society's fury and nurse scorched souls. The seemingly endless years of pandemic lockdown and social distancing, coupled with the turbulent plague of civil unrest and racial injustice, called on Vintage Trouble to step into their battle wear. Like so often before, they have spun records to drop onto the fighting grounds, with the intent to freeze the frame long enough to momentarily halt the warring world. And while at ease, we can freely choose to think before we strike or decide to retreat, rather than thoughtlessly charge into repeating history. This collection of heavy hymns is from the heart, and it provides a necessary rise to our ever reckoning.

Me & That Man. Think - Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Tom Waits and others. Me & That Man is the new musical project from Nergal, the founder, lead singer, lyricist, and guitarist for black metal band Behemoth. Behemoth have released ten studio albums and has amassed a massive (and growing) global following, with hundreds of thousands of albums sold and tens of millions of video views. Me And That Man will appeal to Nergal's faithful within the metal, rock and punk worlds, and is melodic and intriguing enough that it will spread far beyond.
