Eaves, the debut album from the raucous avant-grunge outfit Forever House, provides the perfect twisted mix-tape for your apocalyptic road trip. In a tour de force of subversive anthems, sloppy math waltzes and wasted love themes, the nine songs that comprise Eaves playfully conjure decrepit skylines, brazen entitlement, hollow self-betterment and internet-induced paranoia. Lead vocalist and cellist Meaghan Burke toggles between moments of seductive crooning and maniacal freak-outs as James Moore (guitar), James Ilgenfritz (bass) and Pete Wise (drums) provide a powerful rhythm section. All seasoned performers from New York's indie and experimental scenes, each member of the band brings in a breadth of influences from contemporary classical music, downtown jazz and free improvisation.

"Berlin Head Metal is a large-scale, four movement binaural sound work. All sounds were derived from metal percussion instruments using re-embodied sound techniques. Metal Percussion instruments were recorded, the recordings were then played back through the same instruments using surface transducers, and recorded again. The first three movements were composed using over 1000 samples from six instruments, consisting of large and small chau gongs, two large Vietnamese gongs, a Thai button gong, and a bell plate. The recordings were then played back into the instruments they were initially played on, through an attached surface transducer, and recorded again to create a new set of samples. This process was repeated until the sound reduced to the base resonance of the instrument."

COCHRANE/POPEJOY is a new duo of Chris Cochrane on guitar and Stuart Popejoy on bass, forging a new sound from Frippian drones and ambient wails emanating from heavy distortion and processing. Captured from live improvised performances where feedback and resonators give way to miniature motives operating like minimalist pop mantras, the music is a modern reconfiguration of sonic and psychedelic impulses arising from the improvisational event, and coming out of cross-pollinations with other NYC noise-rock-improv configurations of the two as individuals with the likes of Kid Millions, Gordon Beeferman, Sarah Bernstein, Mick Barr, Brian Chase, Marc Ribot, Zeena Parkins, and John Zorn.
