Alain Delon stars in his debut leading role as Tom Ripley, a young American who is paid by the wealthy Greenleaf family to travel to Europe to persuade his friend, errant playboy Philip Greenleaf (Maurice Ronet), to return to the family home in San Francisco. When he gets there, Tom discovers that Philip has it all - including a beautiful fiancée, Marge (Marie Laforet) - and begins to covet his luxurious lifestyle. Philip, initially amused by Tom's arrival, soon tires of him, and as Tom begins to find himself excluded from Philip's coterie, his envy takes a murderous turn. Highsmith's novel was later adapted by Hollywood as 'The Talented Mr Ripley' (1999) starring Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Typ: DVD / Digitally Restored

When a police car stops outside his small shop, Michel Descombes learns that his son has horrifically murdered a security guard and is now on the run. Stunned by the news, he cannot bring himself to belive it and tries to discover for himself the apparent motives for the gruesome crime. His passionate reactions in the defence of his fugitive son fascinate the investigating officer, Commissioner Guiboud. The two men form an odd trusting alliance until Michel realises that Guiboud is really acting to bring about his son's death as judicial revenge. To save his son, Michel has to put himself on the side of those against the law.

Typ: DVD

In 'Three Colours: Blue' (1993) Julie (Juliette Binoche) has her world turned upside down when her husband and daughter are killed in a car crash. She sells the family home and moves to a Parisian suburb, attempting to build a new life for herself. But her efforts to start afresh are dragged down by memories from the past and fear of the present. In 'Three Colours: White' (1994) Karol Karol (Zbigniew Zamachowski) is a Polish hairdresser living in Paris. He has just been divorced and kicked out onto the streets by his beautiful young wife Dominique (Julie Delpy). Whilst begging on the Metro, Karol is befriended by his fellow countryman Mikolaj, who agrees to smuggle him back to Warsaw in a trunk. Once home Karol begins to rebuild his life, and, by cunning means, starts to make enormous profits in Poland's new free-market system. He then puts his newly-acquired wealth to use and starts to enact a complex plan to bring Dominique back into his life. Finally, in 'Three Colours: Red' (1994) fashion model Valentine (Irene Jacob) accidentally runs over a dog. She takes him to a vet, gets him patched up and then tries to return him to his owner. It turns out that the owner is Joseph Kern (Jean-Louis Trintignant), a retired judge who lives alone and listens in on his neighbours' telephone conversations. Valentine and Joseph slowly become friends; meanwhile, one of Joseph's neighbours cheats on her boyfriend, a young law student who will have an important effect on Valentine's life.

Typ: Blu-ray / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray

OBS! Import. Kontrollera att språk och textning passar dig.

The complete works of French auteur Jean Vigo are now available on 4K UHD for the first time, on the 120th anniversary of his birth. This collection features Vigo's entire filmography - L'Atalante, Zéro de conduite, Taris, and A Propos de Nice - presented from a 4K restoration completed by Gaumont, La Cinematheque Francaise, and Martin Scorsese's The Film Foundation. This set also includes hours of special features, with alternate versions of the films, documentaries, short films, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and interviews. Vigo, the son of a notorious anarchist, spent most of his early life either on the run or in bad health. Despite these challenges, Vigo created spellbinding cinematic works of poetic realism, culminating in his only feature-length film, L'Atalante. Tragically, just weeks after the release of L'Atalante in 1934, Vigo died of tuberculosis, aged 29. His legacy has been firmly cemented in film history however; not just by the archivists and technicians who have preserved and restored his films, but also by the filmmakers who count Vigo as an inspiration: from the directors of the French New Wave and on to modern masters like Michel Gondry and Luca Guadagnino. Experience the magic for yourself today.

Limited Edition 4K set includes:

- This four disc set includes one 4K UHD with the films, one Blu-ray with the films, and two Blu-rays with the special features
- Presented in a rigid slipcase containing the digipak, booklet and posters
- 100-page booklet featuring a new essay by Ian Haydn Smith, archival writing by François Truffaut and James Agee, as well as essays, speeches, script extracts and unmade projects written by Jean Vigo
- 3 collectible posters featuring 5 designs from throughout the release history of L'Atalante
- New cover artwork by Tony Stella

Special Features:

- Young Devils in School: Zéro de Conduite - Rushes, Sound, and Images
- Winter Shooting: L'Atalante, Rushes and Outtakes
- Zéro de conduite - second version
- À propos de Nice - first version (featuring footage cut by Vigo)
- Musical scores for À propos de Nice by Marc Perrone (2001) and Stephen Horne & Frank Bockius (2017)
- Lines of the Hand (2015), a short film by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson - an adaptation of an unrealized script by Jean Vigo (Les lignes de la main)
- Filmmakers of Our Times: Jean Vigo - a feature-length documentary from 1964 by Jacques Rozier
- Luce, About Jean Vigo (2016) - documentary featuring Luce Vigo, Jean Vigo's daughter
- The Voyages of L'Atalante - a look at the various versions of the film released over the years
- From L'Atalante to L'Atalante - short film made as an intro to the 1990 restored version
- An introduction to L'Atalante by Martin Scorsese
- François Truffaut and Eric Rohmer discuss L'Atalante (1968)
- Four restoration featurettes
- Sounds Regained - a revealing insight into the audio restoration of the films
- Jean Taris: Gaumont newsreels
- Excerpt from Abel Gance's Napoléon - pillow-fight sequence
- Interviews with Lucile Hadzihalilovic, Jean-Paul Civeyrac, Jacques Rozier, and Otar Iosseliani
- Theatrical re-release trailer

Typ: Blu-ray / 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray (Limited Edition)
