John Cusack and Diane Franklin star in this teen comedy written and directed by Savage Steve Holland. When high school student Lane Meyer (Cusack) is dumped by his girlfriend Beth Truss (Amanda Wyss) for Roy Stalin (Aaron Dozier), the captain of the ski team, he fears his life is over. As he vacillates between trying to win Beth back and attempting to end his life, he grows closer to Monique Junot (Franklin), a French exchange student who is staying with one of his neighbours. When Roy insults Monique, Lane is forced to take drastic action and might just discover real happiness in the process. The cast also includes David Ogden Stiers, Kim Darby and Curtis Armstrong.
