Lucy Bridge

Lucy Bridge Colour Mode (Bok)

Find inspiration in the transformative colours and textures of visionary contemporary make-up artist Lucy Bridge.

'Theatrical, confrontational, painterly, expressive.' This is how photographer Tim Walker describes the make-up artistry of Lucy Bridge, whom he has known since spotting her on a bus in East London more than fifteen years ago and asking to take her picture.

Lucy Bridge is the first book on her celebrated work, created through a close collaboration between Bridge and renowned art director Veronica Ditting. Mixing high-fashion editorials, specially commissioned photoshoots, looks created for the runway and exclusive behind-the-scenes pictures, the book presents ten distinct visual stories, and finishes with a section of career highlights.

Bridge's rare technical skill and ability to construct moods, stories and characters materializes through her creative partnerships: with leading photographers, such as Paolo Roversi, Tim Walker, Carlijn Jacobs, Thurstan Redding and Oliver Hadlee Pearch, as well as top stylists and models, from Vanessa Reid to Alex Consani. Texts come from those who know and have worked closely with Bridge, including her mother, Julia, Tim Walker, model Saskia de Brauw, and designers Dries Van Noten and Haider Ackermann.
