Helen Mirren and John Lynch star in this drama adapted by Bernard MacLaverty from his novel of the same name. Cal (Lynch), an out-of-work man in Northern Ireland, becomes involved with the IRA. He acts as the driver during the murder of a police officer and later discovers that Marcella (Mirren), the woman to whom he is attracted, is the widow of the victim.
