Danny Boyle directs this thriller set in Edinburgh. Flatmates Juliet, David and Alex (Kerry Fox, Christopher Eccleston and Ewan McGregor) advertise for a fourth person to join them in their apartment. They find the mysterious Hugo (Keith Allen) who promptly dies in his bed of a drug overdose and leaves behind a million pounds in a suitcase under his bed.
