All the surviving episodes of Johnny Speight's classic sitcom about a bigoted working-class man and his beleaguered family. Alf Garnett (Warren Mitchell) rants and raves interminably about everything from race to politics. Anything that will likely generate discomfort or derision is fair game, and the discomfort is felt aplenty by his unfortunate wife Else (Dandy Nichols) and daughter Rita (Una Stubbs), while the derision mainly comes from his argumentative son-in-law Mike (Anthony Booth). Displaying the prejudices and bigotry found in conservative working-class culture at the time, the sitcom had a profound impact on the future of television comedy. The episodes are: 'Arguments, Arguments...', 'A House With Love in It', 'Intolerance', 'Peace and Goodwill', 'In Sickness and in Health', 'State Visit', 'Alf's Dilemma', 'Till Closing Time Do Us Part', 'The Phone', 'The Blood Donor', 'Aunt Maud', 'The Puppy', 'To Garnett a Grandson', 'Pigeon Fancier', 'Holiday in Bournemouth', 'Dock Pilfering', 'Up the Hammers', 'Alf's Broken Leg', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'TV Licence', 'The Royal Wedding', 'Strikes and Blackouts', 'Three Day Week', 'Gran's Watch', 'Party Night', 'Paki-Paddy', 'Outback Bound', 'Phone Call to Else', 'Marital Bliss', 'Wedgie Benn', 'The Wake', 'Christmas Club Books', 'The Letter', 'Moving in With Min', 'Min the Housekeeper', 'Drunk in Charge of a Bicycle', 'The Window', 'A Hole in One' and 'Unemployment'. The collection also includes audio-only versions of the episodes: 'Hair Raising!', 'Two Toilets?... That's Posh', 'From Liverpool With Love', 'Claustrophobia', 'Sex Before Marriage', 'I Can Give It Up Any Time I Like', 'The Bulldog Breed', 'Caviare On the Dole', 'A Woman's Place Is in the Home', 'A Wapping Mythology (The Workers' King)', 'Monopoly', 'The Funeral' and 'Football'.
