An immortal being takes on different forms until it becomes a boy called Fushi (voice of Reiji Kawashima) and begins to learn what it means to be human. As Fushi explores the world, he is changed by the people he encounters. However, the Nokkers pursue him relentlessly, determined to thwart his purpose on Earth. In this season Fushi has retreated into seclusion, having tired of witnessing endless death and tragedy, but he must return to the world eventually and when he does, he finds allies both old and new waiting for him.
