2016

Approximately five years ago we released the album" Jazz & the city", which became an immediate success with more than 30 000 albums sold. Now we dare to repeat this success - this time with a completely unique content!<br/><br/>One of the CDs in this 2CD box contains Nordic material only, which we market as "Divas of Nordic Jazz". It's a selection with some of the most celebrated and known young Nordic female jazz singers from the Nordic countries, with a good foothold in their respective home countries.<br/>You have most probably heard of Rigmor Gustavsson, Helle Brunvoll, Sophie Pettersson, Zelma, Ira Kaspi, Gunhild Nyborg, LaGaylia Frasier. If not, it's an excellent opportunity to buy this compilation!<br/><br/>These names give the tone of CD1 with modern, smart and sensual jazz, which the Nordic region has gotten itself known for in the Jazz world.<br/><br/>Listen to the album and dream yourself away while you glance through this well designed "coffee table"-box with its beautiful pictures in a New York atmosphere.<br/><br/>CD2 contains standards by famous jazz legends in unique interpretations. This is not the Rat Pack - this is the Jazz Legend Party Pack. so what do you say? We say - Jazz & the city!

Digipack.<br/><br/>LINE UP<br/>Iiro Rantala / piano<br/>Victoria Tolstoy / vocals<br/>Ulf Wakenius / guitar<br/>Lars Danielsson / bass<br/>Morten Lund / drums<br/><br/>No other European jazz pianist has had such a formative influence in his field in recent years as the Swede Esbjörn Svensson, who died far too soon in 2008. In changing constellations, moods and interpretations, Iiro Rantala, Viktoria Tolstoy, Ulf Wakenius, Lars Danielsson and Morten Lund take on some of the best-known Svensson respectively e.s.t. works. And if the album title "Tears For Esbjörn" becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy upon hearing Svensson's most emotional piece "Love Is Real" nobody needs to be ashamed; neither for tears of sadness at the irreplaceable loss of Esbjörn Svensson, nor for tears of joy at the music he left us with.
